Man Arrested in Home Improvement Fraud - Northeast Columbia ...

Mark Dennis Anderson has been charged with five counts of obtaining property under false pretenses and breach of trust after he promised to do work at six Richland County homes and then allegedly not showing up.?

Anderson?was at a bond hearing on Sept. 22 and released, after which he allegedly continued to defraud homeowners, a sheriff's office press release stated.?

He's charges coinside with the following incidents:?

  • April 2011 ? Anderson met with a homeowner on Shelby?Drive and agreed to repair her roof. She gave anderson $1, 495 but no work was ever done.
  • May 2011 ? A homeowner on Todd Branch Road gave?Anderson?an insurance check for repairs. No work was ever started.
  • May 2011 ? On Woodale Circle, the victim paid?Anderson?$2, 032 to work on his roof. This was never started.
  • June 2011 ? A homeowner on Brokestone Road paid?Anderson?$1, 282 to work on his roof. This was never started.
  • September 2011 ? On Blythewood Road, the victim paid Anderson?$1, 750 to work on his roof. This was never started.
  • September 2011 ? On Woodale Circle the victim paid?Anderson?$2, 505 to work on his roof. It was never started.?
  • December 2011 ? On Todd Branch Drive, the victim paid?Anderson $1, 447 to work on his roof. The work was never done.
